Brazil is as large as the continential United States. The study abroad program is housed at the University of São Paulo's
College of Agriculture (Universidade de São Paulo Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ), Departamento de Economia, Administração e Sociologia). The OSU College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has had a formal agreement with ESALQ for over 40 years, with several of the college's faculty helping to start the master's and doctoral programs.
During the six-week study abroad, students will attend formal classes, stay with a Brazilian family during one weekend, participate in numerous one-day and three-day field trips, and engage in a 14-day field trip through three different states of Brazil.
