Class 18: Looking Back on Brazil

Feb. 20, 2017

Six weeks is a long time when you think about it. But members of Class 18, who recently returned home from Brazil, would most likely tell you that six weeks was all too short.

“It was the most life changing experience I've had since being at Ohio State."

-Kait Butterfield: 2nd year, Agricultural Business and Applied Economics

For some, it was their first opportunity to explore agriculture from a global perspective. Others were able to draw similarities and differences to countries they have had previous opportunities to visit in the past.

“Traveling to Brazil was a tremendous opportunity to develop my knowledge and understanding of global agriculture economy. I also gained a new perspective when comparing it to other countries I have been to, including South Africa and Costa Rica.”

-Matthew Klopfenstein: 3rd year, Agricultural Engineering

No matter their previous background, every student was able to immerse themselves in a culture other than their own and further develop themselves as a future leader in the agricultural industry.

“Studying abroad in Brazil was a once in a lifetime opportunity to expand my knowledge of agriculture and economics and I would highly recommend (AZP) for anyone to partake in.”

-Kelse Brown: 3rd year, Agriscience Education
